Dr. Rebecca Harding's Biography

Dr. Rebecca Harding, a leading independent economist, author, keynote speaker and renowned authority on global trade, trade finance, sustainability, and geopolitics.

Rebecca’s pioneering work in trade finance has made her a sought-after advisor to major financial institutions, governments, and multinational organizations, helping them navigate the complexities of international trade and economic policy.

Harding’s career spans academia, policy advising, and senior roles in business. As the founder of Rebeccanomics, a strategic advisory business she has held positions at Deloitte, London Business School, and served as the Chief Economist at the Work Foundation and UK Finance. A former Specialist Adviser to the Treasury Select Committee, she has also advised the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Entrepreneurship.

Her experience includes expert witness roles on trade finance and supply chains, alongside board memberships with the World Trade Board and International Trade and Forfaiting Association’s ESG Committee. In 2022, Rebecca was honored as “Net Zero Entrepreneur of the Year” at the Scale Up Group’s Enterprise Awards for her work as the founder of Coriolis Technologies, a technology business specializing in ESG analytics for trade finance.

Rebecca is a senior fellow of the British Foreign Policy Group and also served on the ITFA’s ESG Committee, working to shape sustainable trade finance standards. She has been a Director and Trustee of the German-British Forum, contributing to stronger international economic relations between the UK and Germany.

Harding is the co-author of The Weaponization of Trade: The Great Unbalancing of Policy published in 2017 and Economics and Gaming Trade: Win-Win Strategies for the Digital Era, along with eight other books on topics such as the German economy, innovation policy, and SME financing. With over 200 peer-reviewed articles, her insights regularly appear in major media outlets, including BBC, CNBC, and Sky News.
