Ajaz Ahmed's Biography
Ajaz Ahmed BEM is best known for founding Freeserve, the UK’s first billion-pound internet company. In 1998, he bought a computer from PC World, and no one there could tell him how to access the Internet. He had a eureka moment and persuaded Dixons to launch Freeserve.
In just three months, it became the UK’s biggest ISP, quickly going public with a market cap of £1.5bn, entering the FT100, and at its height, worth £9bn. Freeserve was later sold to France Telecom for £1.6bn in 2001.
His “Cut the Cr*p” talk started when Ajaz became fed up with listening to so-called business experts and gurus who never get to the point or leave the audience with any wisdom. So, he developed a different format; it’s entertaining and memorable.
There has been significant demand for “Cut the Cr*p” at universities and business events. Ajaz talks about the lessons he learnt before and after launching a billion-pound business. People looking to improve their business skills and budding entrepreneurs love this talk.
