Henrique Meirelles's Biography

Henrique Meirelles was Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil from 2003 until 2010. Prior to this, he was President of FleetBoston’s Corporate and Global Bank and of BankBoston Corporation.

Henrique was also a member of the Advisory Boards of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, the Sloan School of Management of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Carroll School of Management of the Boston College, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees of the New England Conservatory of Music and of the Institute of Contemporary Arts of Boston.

In March 2011, Henrique was appointed by Dilma Rousseff to head the organisational committee for the Rio Olympic Games in 2016.
