Patricia Espinosa's Biography
Ambassador Patricia Espinosa is a seasoned diplomat and tireless advocate for climate action and sustainable development. She is the CEO and Founding Partner of Onepoint5, a collective of experts that guides and empowers clients across private and public sectors to accelerate their transition to a sustainable future.
From 2016-2022, she was the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), based in Germany. Under her leadership, the UNFCCC played a pivotal role in facilitating international cooperation and dialogue on climate change. Patricia Espinosa played an instrumental role in driving the successful negotiations of the Paris Agreement in 2015, which has set the global agenda for climate action.
With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Patricia has become an influential figure in global environmental policy-making, leaving an indelible mark on international relations. Her extensive knowledge, experience, and commitment to collaborative solutions make her an invaluable speaker for events addressing climate change, diplomacy, and sustainable development.
Espinosa began her diplomatic career with Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1981. Over the years, she has held various positions within the Mexican government, including Ambassador to Germany and Austria, as well as Mexico’s Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna and Geneva.
