Faye Dicker's Biography

Faye Dicker is a broadcaster, voiceover artist and multi-award-winning founder of Freelance Mum—the UK’s leading child-friendly business network.

A seasoned media professional, Faye began her career in television before moving into radio, where she presented for both the BBC and commercial stations. As a highly sought-after voiceover artist, her work can be heard across national TV and radio campaigns, corporate narrations, and e-learning platforms.

In 2013, Faye founded Freelance Mum to tackle the challenges of balancing business and motherhood. She found herself feeling isolated as a freelancer with a young baby and knew she couldn’t be alone. What started as a podcast, with her baby strapped to her, has now turned into a national network.

Faye has been visionary is launching hubs across the country, that support mums in business and (crucially) allows them to bring their children. Child-care needs are mitigated and mums in business are connected.

Over the last decade, she’s supported over 1,000 mums in business. Hosted more than 290 netwalks, walked over 4,000 miles. The Freelance Mum community has exchanged over 50,000 business interactions and more to the point, supported mums through isolating and challenging times.

Now, Faye is on a mission to support 100,000 freelance mums over the next decade, shaping the future of work for self-employed mothers.

She continues to work as a voiceover artist, while spearheading the way for mums in business.

Recognized as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Women in the West (2018 & 2019), Freelance Ambassador of the Year, and a Covid-19 Success Story, Faye was most recently listed in the prestigious f:Entrepreneur #iAlso100 (2025). Her insights on entrepreneurship, flexible working, and the hidden economy of freelance mums make her a sought-after speaker at events, panels, and podcasts.

When she’s not behind the mic or leading the Freelance Mum movement, you’ll find Faye embracing her love of open water swimming—her ultimate way to ‘download’ and recharge.

Fun and warm to work with, I always look forward to a Faye session. She enjoys her work and has a real focus on the script in front of her. Faye seldom needs more than a couple of takes to really nail the words. These are 5 stars that are thoroughly deserved.
