Cam Whitnall's Biography
Cam Whitnall is a wildlife conservationist, broadcaster, photographer and one of the UK’s leading advocates for wildlife protection. As Managing Director of The Big Cat Sanctuary, he leads one of Europe’s foremost conservation centres, overseeing global breeding programmes, animal welfare initiatives and high-profile rescue missions for endangered big cats.
Growing up immersed in wildlife conservation through his family’s work at Hertfordshire Zoo and The Big Cat Sanctuary, Cam has dedicated his career to protecting endangered species while inspiring the next generation through television, photography and digital storytelling. He stars alongside his brothers Aaron and Tyler in the hit CBBC series One Zoo Three and OZT Goes Wild in Britain, bringing conservation and animal care to audiences of all ages.
Alongside his broadcasting career, Cam has built a global audience of more than two million followers across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook, where he shares wildlife photography, behind-the-scenes conservation work and educational content from around the world. As a Nikon wildlife photographer, he combines powerful storytelling with striking imagery to connect millions of people with nature.
In 2024, Cam led the internationally recognised Big Cats in Crisis campaign, coordinating the rescue of five lions from war-torn Ukraine and raising more than £500,000 to build a purpose-built Lion Rescue Centre in Kent. The mission captured global attention and became the subject of his debut memoir, Lion Heart, published by Penguin Random House in 2026.
An ambassador for Nature’s SAFE, SANCCOB and Bear Grylls, and a Patron of Helping Rhinos, Cam works with conservation organisations across the world to protect endangered wildlife. Today, he is a sought-after speaker who inspires audiences with stories of leadership, resilience, conservation and the power of purpose-driven action.
