Arturo Elías Ayub's Biography
Arturo Elias Ayub is a Mexican businessman who has held leadership positions across telecommunications, sports, and media sectors.
Ayub joined Telmex in 1996 as Advisor to the Directorate and currently serves as Director of Strategic Alliances of Teléfonos de Mexico and CEO of the Telmex Foundation. He is also director of UNO Noticias.
In 2001, he became chairman of the board of Club Universidad Nacional, commonly known as “UNAM Pumas,” one of Mexico’s most prominent football teams. During his tenure, the club secured a double championship in both the Clausura 2004 and Apertura 2004 tournaments. He stepped down from the board in 2005.
He currently serves on the board of directors of Grupo Carso, Grupo Inbursa, and Telmex, and is Chairman of the Instituto Telmex del Deporte (Telmex Institute for Sports).
