Lindsay Newman's Biography

Dr. Lindsay Shorr Newman is an experienced geopolitical risk expert and thought leader.

She is an Associate Fellow at the US and North America Programme, Chatham House, a role she had also prior to working for S&P.  She is also a visiting Research Fellow at King’s College Department of War Studies.

Lindsay focuses on global trend forecasting and thematic strategy, building on her decades-long experience in the political risk space. She is a keynote speaker and contributor across events, television, radio and print media.  She also served as the Practice Head, Global Macro-Geopolitics at Eurasia Group.  Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Lindsay was Head of Geopolitical Thought Leadership with S&P Global, Market Intelligence. Lindsay was a member of S&P Global’s Research Council, and co-led the Council’s Diversity in Markets research lab.

Lindsay began her career as a corporate lawyer working in the capital markets practice of White & Case in New York, where she advised global companies and financial institutions on capital raising activities in the debt and equity markets. She received a bachelor’s degree from Yale University, (B.A. Political Science (honors with distinction) and International Studies (honors with distinction), magna cum laude), her Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law and her PhD in politics from the Politics Department at New York University, where her research modeled drivers of and investor response to electoral violence.

She is also a member of the NYU Law International Alumni Advisory Board.
