Dennis Crowley Keynote Speaker

Technology entrepreneur Dennis Crowley works at the intersection of the real world and digital world to create things that make everyday life feel more fun and playful.

Dennis is the Co-Founder/Co-Chair of world-leading location technology platform, Foursquare, and was one of the early pioneers of using game mechanics to drive real-world behaviours.  He is a Co-Founder of LivingCities, a virtual mirror world which intertwines the Metaverse and reality by creating digital twins of real places, and a Co-Founder of Street FC, a street soccer community “building the biggest football club on the planet”.

Previously, Dennis founded one of the first location-based mobile social services, Dodgeball (acquired by Google in 2005) and he was Co-Creator of location-based games PacManhattan (2004) and ConQwest (2004).

Dennis is Chairman of the Kingston Stockade Football Club, a semi-professional soccer team out of Hudson Valley, NY that competes in the 4th division of the US Soccer Pyramid.

He has been named one of Fortune’s “40 Under 40” in (2010, 2011). He is a member of Vanity Fair’s “New Establishment” (2011, 2012) and was named to the MIT Technology Review “TR35” as one of the top 35 innovators in the world under the age of 35. He won the “Fast Money” bonus round on the TV game show Family Feud (2009). Previously, he was an Adjunct Professor at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP).

His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Wired, Time Magazine, Newsweek, MTV, Slashdot and NBC. Dennis holds a Master’s Degree from New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program and a Bachelor’s degree from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University.
