Delos Cosgrove Keynote Speaker

Delos Cosgrove is one of the world’s most respected healthcare leaders, recognised for transforming Cleveland Clinic into a global model for medical excellence, innovation and patient-centred care. As President and CEO of Cleveland Clinic (2004–2017), he led the organisation through a period of unprecedented growth, international expansion and operational transformation, helping establish it among the world’s leading healthcare institutions.

Before moving into executive leadership, Dr Cosgrove built an internationally acclaimed career as a cardiac surgeon. Over more than three decades, he performed more than 22,000 operations and became a pioneer in heart valve repair and minimally invasive cardiac surgery. He also developed more than 30 medical innovations and patents, helping shape advances in modern surgical practice.

A Vietnam War veteran and recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, Dr Cosgrove served as a surgeon in the United States Air Force before joining Cleveland Clinic in 1975. Under his leadership, Cleveland Clinic expanded internationally, including the development of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, while introducing major initiatives focused on quality improvement, transparency and patient experience through its widely recognised “Patients First” philosophy.
