Chandila Fernando's Biography

Having worked with organizations as diverse as Barclays Global Business Solutions, The Sri Lankan Board of Investment, Metropolitan Group and The Amelie and Daniel Foundation; his creative, albeit unorthodox approach to problem solving is firmly rooted in a results-driven philosophy based on the working principles of entrepreneurial economics.

Comfortable on the radio and a variety of national and international stages including media channels such as Sky and BBC; he is ever ready to capture the imagination of decision makers. This thirst for knowledge and influence led him to be a Prime Ministerial adviser before the age of 40.

Passionate about foreign policy, smart tourism™, international trading partnerships and female economic empowerment across emerging markets; his special interests include predicting global economic and geo-political trends while forging meaningful relationships between South East Asia and the Western world.

Having worked on campaigns, particularly; messaging for candidates, he has also been an approved UK parliamentary candidate for the Conservative Party and remains the youngest person in British Political history to have run for President of the Liberal Democrats.

One of his first national political speeches was at a Conservative Party Conference where he spoke about education and grammar schools. He was introduced on stage by the former UK Prime Minister, Theresa May.

In 2016 his TEDx talk titled, ‘The Great Debt Switch’ Chandila swiftly identifies how markets evolve and through the infectious belief in having the courage to think differently; a full and remarkable solution to solving Sri Lanka’s sovereign debt crisis was presented in the unlikely context of LEGO, a little princess and betting slips.

On a day-to-day basis, Chandila specializes in working with companies who have fewer than 150 staff on their business, marketing and financial plans to mitigate commercial risk as an interim crisis management and strategic growth specialist.
