Najib Altawell's Biography

Dr Najib Altawell is an environmental engineer, academic, and author with more than seventeen years of international experience in energy (fossil fuels, Renewable energy, and nuclear energy), sustainability, geopolitics and climate change. Presently, he teaches and coordinates modules in Energy and Energy Management, Project Management in the Energy Industry, and the Economic Environment of Business.

Dr Altawell’s research and professional work bridge the worlds of technology, sustainability, and strategic transformation. His expertise spans renewable and hybrid energy systems, oil and gas decarbonisation, nanotechnology and nanotechnology applications in clean energy, as well as the emerging field of ClimateTech for Environmental Sustainability—integrating AI, digital twins, and nanomaterials for a net-zero future.

He is the author and editor of several internationally published books, including The Selection Process of Biomass Materials for Co-firing and for the Production of Bio-fuels (Wiley-IEEE Press), Rural Electrification: Optimising Economics, Planning and Policy in an Era of Climate Change and Energy Transition (Elsevier), Sustainable and Economic Approach to the Oil and Gas Industry, and Energy Storage Systems (Cambridge Scholars Press, forthcoming).
