Munroe Bergdorf's Biography

Munroe Bergdorf is a pioneering British model, writer and activist reshaping the conversation on identity and inclusion. In 2017, she became the first transgender model to front a L’Oréal UK campaign, igniting a global conversation on race, gender, and representation.

Her debut memoir, Transitional (2023), was longlisted for the 2024 Polari First Book Prize and hailed as a powerful exploration of personal and collective transformation. In 2025, she released Talk To Me: There’s No Greater Act of Defiance Than Using Your Voice, an empowering guide to navigating difficult conversations with empathy and courage.

That same year, Bergdorf premiered Love & Rage, a feature documentary chronicling her journey from Essex schoolgirl to global changemaker, offering a candid look at the resilience required to challenge systemic injustice.

As the first UN Women UK National Champion, Bergdorf continues to advocate for inclusive dialogue and intersectional understanding. Her speaking engagements at institutions like Oxford and Princeton Universities, as well as the United Nations Headquarters, underscore her commitment to fostering environments where all voices are heard and valued.
