Manoj Krishna's Biography
Dr. Manoj Krishna worked as a spine surgeon in the UK for 25 years. He became a doctor because he wanted to help people and make a difference. He left medicine for the same reason, because he thought he could make a bigger difference by sharing some of the key insights he gained during his surgical career:
- That most of our stress comes from the automatic way our mind reacts to external triggers, without our own awareness. Some of our stress is also created by our own mind.
- By learning to regulate our own emotions and understand our own mind we can learn how to respond to our challenges with much less stress.
- The more we understand ourselves, the easier it is to understand others and this can strengthen our relationships.
- Self-understanding also helps us build the skills we need to thrive at work; communication, leadership, decision making under pressure, empathy, emotional intelligence and more.
He has written two books: Understanding Me, Understanding You- an enquiry into being human, and Stress Free.
He started the HappierMe Project and created the HappierMe app to give everyone a toolkit to manage their own mental health, develop stronger relationships and build their life-skills to thrive in a fast changing world.
Most solutions to problems we face arrive too late – once issues have already escalated – whether it’s mental health, burnout, inter-personal conflict or addiction. He thinks proactive prevention is important and believes self-understanding can help.
Organisations who develop these inner skills in their workforce can see an improvement in retention, culture, wellbeing, leadership, performance and productivity. It can also help to reduce burnout, interpersonal conflict and disengagement.
He wants to make it simple for anyone to access their own inner intelligence and live their best life.
He has spoken in over 50 institutions on these subjects.
