Ken Goldberg's Biography

Ken Goldberg is one of the world’s foremost authorities on robotics, artificial intelligence and automation. He is the William S. Floyd Jr. Distinguished Chair in Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, where he holds appointments in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, and the School of Information. He is also Director of Berkeley’s AUTOLAB, a leading research centre focused on robotics, AI and machine learning.

For more than three decades, Ken has been at the forefront of technological innovation, pioneering advances in cloud robotics, robot learning, automation and human-robot interaction. His research has helped shape the development of intelligent robotic systems used across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare and e-commerce, with his work cited globally as organisations seek to understand the future impact of AI and automation.

A prolific inventor, researcher and entrepreneur, Ken has published hundreds of influential academic papers and holds numerous patents.
