Gary Shteyngart's Biography

Gary Shteyngart is a Russian American satirical author with a cult following in the US. Gary’s fantastic work is noted for its dry wit, insightful observations and self mockery. His most recent book, an autobiography entitled “Little Failure”, has won worldwide praise for being both a funny, insightful and poignant tale of childhood.

Gary has won numerous awards for his work which include the best sellers ‘Super Sad True Love Story’ and ‘Absurdistan’. As well as being a New York Times best-seller Gary has won the Stephen Crane Award for First Fiction and the National Jewish Book Award for Fiction. Gary was named as one of The New Yorker magazine’s “20 under 40” luminary fiction writers. Gary’s sense of humour is not only evident in his writing but also through his speaking engagements and press coverage. He is one of the few authors to film a trailer for his book releases. The trailers feature famous actors and are hugely popular with the public. Gary has a unique ability to capture an audience’s attention through his use of social media.

As a prolific writer Gary’s work has featured in The New Yorker, Travel + Leisure, Esquire, GQ and The New York Times Magazine. His astute commentary on American life has won him fans worldwide.

His most recent book is title “Little Failure: A Memoir”, published in 2014 by Random House.
