Caroline Stokes's Biography

Caroline Stokes is a globally recognised leadership strategist whose work sits at the intersection of AI, climate risk, and organisational reinvention. Named to Thinkers50’s Radar Class of 2026 for her work on future-ready leadership, she is the author of AfterShock to 2030: A CEO’s Guide to Reinvention in the Age of AI, Climate and Societal Collapse (2025), one of the first digital-only, climate-responsible leadership books to be shortlisted for the Thinkers50 Leadership Award—placing Stokes among the world’s leading voices shaping the future of leadership in the Fifth Industrial Revolution (5IR), where humans and AI must co-create new behaviours and solutions within planetary boundaries.

Stokes has spent her career advising senior executives as they lead their organisation through disruption. In 2019—years before generative AI reshaped the global economy—she delivered a TEDx talk predicting the convergence of AI acceleration, climate destabilisation, and societal fragmentation that now defines C-suite reality. Her frameworks on 5IR Leadership, Radical Listening, Regenerative Strategy, and CEO Reinvention are specifically designed to help senior leaders transition into the new 5IR paradigm.

Stokes has served as a leadership advisor and keynote speaker for organisations including IEEE-USA, the United Nations Association Peace Gathering in Los Angeles, the World Bank, Meta, Microsoft, GamesBeat Summit, Vanguard University, and the Climate Coaching Alliance. She also designs senior executive leadership labs, including the CEO AfterShock Society.

“Caroline Stokes delivered one of the standout sessions at our spring 2024 GamesBeat Summit in Marina del Rey. Her keynote to hundreds of leaders in the games industry on resilience amid uncertainty resonated strongly because she named the pressures they’re facing with rare clarity and candor. Several attendees shared that hearing their current reality articulated so directly helped them regain footing and identify meaningful next steps. In her roundtable with founders, Caroline extended that impact by facilitating thoughtful, practical conversations about navigating complexity. She brought expertise and an uplifting presence that our community valued during a time of great concern for the industry’s future. I also enjoyed our compelling conversation on Caroline's AfterShock to 2030 podcast”
