As Co-Chair of the AI Advisory Board at the United Nations Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology, Artigas plays a central role in developing strategic recommendations on the governance and responsible use of AI. Artigas co-founded and led Synergic Partners, one of Spain’s first Big Data companies, building a team of more than 150 data scientists and delivering international projects across multiple industries. Following Telefónica’s acquisition of the company in 2015, she continued as CEO until 2018, helping accelerate the organisation’s global data and AI capabilities.

From 2020, Artigas served as Spain’s Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, where she spearheaded the country’s Digital Agenda, National AI Strategy, National Cybersecurity Plan, and Digital Rights Charter.
