Lauren Sukin's Biography

Lauren Sukin is one of the leading emerging voices in global security, technology policy, and U.S. foreign policy. She is the John G. Winant Associate Professor of U.S. Foreign Policy at the University of Oxford and a Professorial Fellow at Nuffield College. She maintains affiliations with Oxford’s Rothermere American Institute, Stanford University’s Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC), Peace Research Center Prague (PRCP) at Charles University, and the Nuclear Policy Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Dr. Sukin’s research focuses on some of the most urgent geopolitical challenges of our time: nuclear deterrence, escalation dynamics, alliance politics, and the impact of emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence and cyber capabilities—on global stability. Her work is widely published in top-tier academic journals.
