Dr. Gernot Groemer has dedicated his career to exploring the frontiers of human knowledge and endurance, operating at the very edge of the known world. As the Director of the Austrian Space Forum (OeWF), he has led more than 15 international Mars analog missions, meticulously simulating human-robotic exploration of the Red Planet. These missions take place in some of the most challenging environments on Earth, from the arid deserts of Oman to the icy subterranean caves of the Alps, and the rugged peaks of the Caucasus. Each expedition tests not only the limits of technology and human physiology but also the power of leadership under extreme conditions.
