Logan Wright's Biography

Logan Wright decodes China’s financial system for leaders confronting its slowdown, debt and volatility today. He is a Partner at Rhodium Group, leading China Markets Research and advising investors, corporates and policymakers on China-related financial risk. He also serves as Senior Associate (non-resident) to the Trustee Chair in Chinese Business and Economics at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC, giving him a front-row view of China’s policy debates and their global implications.

His work focuses on how credit conditions, banking fragilities and central bank policy shape China’s growth, currency and external influence. He is the author of the forthcoming book Broken China: How the Economic Miracle Shattered and What it Means for the World and of widely cited reports including Credit and Credibility (2018), The China Economic Risk Matrix (2020) and Grasping Shadows: The Politics of China’s Deleveraging Campaign (2023). Recent analyses of China’s “harsh fiscal winter”, the 2025 Two Sessions and U.S.–China economic relations ensure audiences receive up-to-the-minute insight on the pressures and policy choices driving China’s next phase.

Logan previously led China research at Medley Global Advisors and worked as a China analyst with Stone & McCarthy Research Associates in Beijing, building deep insight into how markets interpret policy signals. He holds a PhD from George Washington University for research on the politics of China’s exchange rate reform, plus Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Georgetown University. A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and having lived and worked in Beijing and Hong Kong for more than two decades, he brings global audiences practical frameworks, clear language and scenario-based tools to stress-test their China exposure and long-term strategies.
