Adam Banks's Biography
Adam Banks is a leading advisor on digitisation, resilience and large-scale tech transformation. As Group Chief Technology & Information Officer at A.P. Moller–Maersk (2015–2020), he guided the shift to cloud-first logistics and led a record-breaking cyber recovery after NotPetya, restoring 4,000 servers and 45,000 PCs in just ten days.
During sixteen years with Visa Europe (1997–2013), Banks built and protected the always-on infrastructure behind billions of payment transactions and introduced real-time resilience long before it was industry norm.
Since 2021, he has enriched corporate boards as Non-Executive Director at TSB Bank, chairing its Technology Strategy Committee, and joined Thames Water in March 2025 as an advisor, alongside roles at Finastra, Dakia, Euroclear UK&I, Rio Tinto and the Digital Container Shipping Association.
