Rose Balston's Biography
Rose Balston is a Dubai- and London-based art historian, television presenter and founder of ArtscapesUK, the cultural-experiences company she launched in 2009 to bring great art out of the gallery and into everyday life. A graduate of the University of Edinburgh, she travels the globe delivering dynamic talks that unlock fresh thinking through the lens of art history.
On screen, Rose fronts art films and series for Sky Arts, BBC (Art on the BBC: Constable – The Rural Rebel) and Channel 5, while her expert commentary features on BBC News, Sky News and Al Jazeera. Her insights and projects have been highlighted in The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Times, Harper’s Bazaar, the London Evening Standard, The Independent and Time Out, underlining a rare talent for making complex visual stories vivid, relevant and profoundly human.
In the corporate arena she designs tailored keynotes and interactive sessions that use masterpieces to spark creativity, strategic thinking and lasting cultural change. Clients including Winston & Strawn, Freshfields, Linklaters, Norton Rose Fulbright, Latham & Watkins, the Bank of England, American Express, Citi, Aon, Montblanc and YPO trust her to strip away ‘art-speak’ and reveal practical insights for teams facing real-world challenges.
Whether decoding Renaissance power plays or spotlighting the women history forgot, Rose’s passionate delivery and natural communication skills break down barriers between art and audience. She equips leaders with richer visual literacy, inspires organisations to see possibility where others see paint, and leaves listeners with ideas that endure long after the event.
