Tim Bouverie's Biography

Tim Bouverie is a leading historian of twentieth-century politics and war. His latest book, Allies at War: The Politics of Defeating Hitler, explores the fragile wartime alliance between Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin, revealing the rivalries that shaped the post-war world. Praised as “remarkable” and “extremely timely” by Andrew Roberts, it draws on research in over 100 British and American archives.

With a journalist’s eye and a historian’s depth, Bouverie uncovers how strategy, ego and ideology collided within the Grand Alliance. His findings include new revelations on American economic dominance and the struggle to contain Soviet ambition.

A graduate of Christ Church, Oxford, and former political journalist at Channel 4 News, Bouverie’s debut Appeasing Hitler was a Sunday Times bestseller and Orwell Prize finalist.

A compelling speaker, he helps audiences understand today’s uncertainty through the lens of history, offering lessons in negotiation, leadership and international cooperation.
