Kathryn Pinkham's Biography

Kathryn Pinkham is one of the UK’s leading insomnia specialists, featured on ITV, BBC, and in publications such as The Guardian, The Telegraph, and Women’s Health. As the founder of The Insomnia Clinic, she takes a refreshingly different, evidence-based approach to sleep, moving beyond outdated sleep hygiene tips to focus on practical techniques that create real, lasting change.

Kathryn has a background in the NHS and founded one of the first in-person insomnia clinics, helping people reduce their reliance on sleeping medication while achieving significant, lasting improvements in their sleep.

For over 15 years, Kathryn has helped thousands of people take back control of their sleep, teaching how to fall asleep faster, wake less, what to do when you’re awake at 3 a.m., and how to calm a racing mind—all using step-by-step tools proven to improve sleep quality.

She is also the only UK clinician offering specific, evidence-based advice for women struggling with menopause-related insomnia, providing tailored strategies that address the hormonal shifts that disrupt sleep during perimenopause and beyond.

Kathryn has worked with major organisations, including J.P. Morgan, Deloitte, Lloyds Bank, and Sainsbury’s, helping employees improve their sleep, well-being, and performance. She has also partnered with David Lloyd Clubs and The Body Coach, bringing her expertise to wider audiences looking to optimise their health and recovery.

With a background in mental health and NHS experience, Kathryn’s approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)—the gold-standard treatment for sleep issues. Her practical, science-backed strategies help people cut through the noise around sleep and focus on practical steps that work.
