Angelika Sharygina's Biography

Angelika Sharygina is a globally recognized voice on artificial intelligence and information integrity, and a force for good at the intersection of AI, geopolitics, and digital education. Her pioneering research treats misinformation as a virus—applying epidemiological models to understand how harmful narratives spread, and designing data-driven interventions to build digital resilience at scale. Drawing on her background in active war zones and humanitarian policy, Sharygina leads international efforts to counter disinformation, deepfakes, and synthetic media, ensuring emerging technologies uphold democratic values and serve the public good.

She is the founder and CEO of MINDSHLD.AI, an award-winning AI-powered edtech startup combating online harm, synthetic media, and information warfare. As an advisor to governments, international organizations, and enterprise leaders, she provides strategic frameworks for responsible innovation, digital resilience, and ethical AI deployment. Her work spans civil and defense spheres, advancing scalable, real-world interventions to mitigate AI-driven risks while centering public interest and democratic integrity.

Currently pursuing her doctorate at Trinity College Dublin, she brings a multidisciplinary perspective grounded in technology, security, and global affairs. A graduate of War Studies at King’s College London, her research bridges geopolitical strategy, emerging technologies, and social justice. Sharygina serves on the Global Advisory Board of the Digital Opportunity Trust, guiding inclusive digital transformation, and advises the Plunk Foundation on ethical tech and community-led innovation.

Named one of the “7 Global Emerging Leaders in AI” by the French government, she has also been listed in “30 Under 30” in Ireland and “133 Women Changing the World.” A UN and TEDx speaker, she was recognized by the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers for her work in ethical innovation.
