Carly Patterson‘s trailblazing journey in gymnastics reached its pinnacle at the 2004 Athens Olympics, where she became the first American woman in two decades to secure the all-around gold medal in a non-boycotted Games. She also earned silver medals in the balance beam and team competitions, cementing her status as a gymnastics icon.
