Dr. Kate Hayes is a distinguished poultry veterinarian and leader in avian health with a career dedicated to advancing the safety, health, and welfare of the global poultry supply. Currently serving as a Business Director at Cargill, she integrates her veterinary expertise to develop business strategies for broiler and turkey customers, enhancing productivity and quality across the poultry industry.
She holds a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and later completed a Master’s in Avian Health and Medicine from the University of Melbourne in 2012. Her expertise spans veterinary medicine, biosecurity, and animal welfare, which she leverages to address the complex challenges of poultry health management and ensure sustainable, high-quality food production.
Before her role at Cargill, Dr. Hayes served as the Vice President of Veterinary Services for Aviagen North America. She led a team of veterinarians, laboratory specialists, and animal welfare experts in overseeing poultry flocks across the U.S. Kate also collaborated with global teams to support customers in maximizing bird health and welfare.
