Laura Trott's Biography
Laura Trott is currently a serving in the Shadow Cabinet as a Chief Secretary to the Treasury, is one of Marie Claire’s Inspirational Women, and was this year named by the House Magazine in their 100 Women in Westminster, which identifies the women who have been leading the way in politics and public services over the past year.
Having not yet turned 40, she has already undertaken two significant roles in government – the first serving as Pensions Minister, where she oversaw the formation of the Mansion House Reforms, before later being promoted to sit in the Cabinet as the Chief Secretary to the Treasury where she was responsible for all government expenditure.
Laura has quickly established herself as a fresh political voice and a strong media performer. She has written for all major UK newspapers and has appeared across both TV and radio sharing her perspective on UK politics. She was a prominent voice through the most recent election campaign, and has spoken at both international and domestic conferences about her views on the economy, UK finances and the pensions sector.
As well as front line political experiences, Laura also brings extensive and unrivalled knowledge of how the country is governed and policy formed. Despite only becoming a Member of Parliament in 2019, Laura has also worked in Downing Street advising the then Prime Minster David Cameron as Head of Strategic Communications. She played a key role co-authoring the 2015 manifesto, leading on education and family policy.
