Marianne Abib-Pech's Biography
A finance professional by background, Marianne trained with Arthur Andersen before joining General Electric where she further developed her business, finance and leadership skills. She then moved from an analyst role to becoming the Global CFO of Shell Aviation – a 20B$ turnover business – before the age of 35.
A writer by passion, she is the author of the Financial Times Guide to Leadership: How to lead effectively and get results. This book is written for professionals at every stage of their leadership journey.
Marianne is also a successful entrepreneur – Marianne founded her own boutique advisory/investment firm specialized in growth in emerging markets. She is the Managing Partner of Transitions First, a seed-stage venture fund based in the leading innovation-rich regions in Silicon Valley and Europe. She sits on the board of Resynergi, a firm that uses advanced plastic recycling technology to rapidly convert plastic waste into reusable and environmentally friendly material. Over the last 10 years, she initiated and/or supported ambitious deep-tech ventures actively contributing to UN sustainable development goals. A very hands-on investor with a portfolio of 20+ international start-ups, in recent years she acted as a growth catalyst for high potential food tech and manufacturing start-ups in many international markets.
Marianne has lived in six different countries and worked with more than 88 nationalities, always with the same objective: creating business value, while unlocking human capital for Finance communities, and ultimately for businesses.
She has experienced first-hand what it means to transform organisations and oneself, and what is required to understand, interpret and connect with oneself and the world around you. Through her keynotes, Marianne wants to inspire and energize anyone looking to become the leader of their organization, their business or their life.
Recognised for unlocking ideas and acting as a powerful bridge between entrepreneurship and the investment world, Marianne believes value creation is based on the ability to connect, communicate and transform.
Challenge, support and protect is her motto.
