Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson is one of Europe’s greatest Paralympic athletes. She competed in five Paralympic Games, winning 11 gold medals, 4 silver and 1 bronze, she won the London Wheelchair Marathon a total of six times and has broken 35 world records. Not only is she acknowledged as one of the most gifted and courageous sportswomen of her generation but she is also a superb motivational speaker.

In 2005 she was made ‘Dame’ Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE for her services to sport and in 2010 she was elevated to the UK’s House of Lords as a “people’s peer”.  With specialist interest in sport, disability, health and youth development she sits on the cross benches, bringing a wealth of experience and authority to the House.

She has also been the Chancellor of Northumbria University since July 2015.

A very strong communicator, Tanni is brilliant at motivating and inspiring an audience, be it a small gathering of CEOs or a large room of employees. In everything that she does her lively personality and down-to-earth humour shine through.   In December 2019, she was given the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award.
