David Frost's Biography

David Frost, the Rt Hon Lord Frost of Allenton CMG, was the leading British player in the Brexit talks as Chief Negotiator and Europe adviser to Prime Minister Boris Johnson (2019-21) and then Cabinet Minister responsible for EU relations (2021). He led the process that finally broke the political deadlock over Brexit, delivered the UK’s exit from the EU, and put in place the world’s broadest free trade agreement.

He resigned from the Government in late 2021 in opposition to a fourth covid lockdown and in opposition to its collectivist direction in policy. He is now a Conservative party member of the House of Lords, a Fellow of the Danube Institute, a director of the campaign group Net Zero Watch, and a regular writer for the Daily Telegraph and other media and political outlets on a wide range of political, economic, and foreign policy issues facing the West today.

He is an engaging speaker on all these issues and his experience in government, where he was for a long time a professional UK diplomat and ambassador. He also has trade experience outside Government as CEO of one of the UK’s biggest trade associations, the Scotch Whisky Association.

He speaks to varying degrees French, German, Greek, Danish, and Russian and has smatterings of other European languages.
