Azeem Azhar's Biography

Azeem Azhar is a keynote speaker on the impact of technology on society and how it is changing the way we live. He is an award-winning entrepreneur and has over 25 years’ experience working as a strategist, analyst and investor in the tech industry.  He is the Founder and producer of leading newsletter, ‘Exponential View’, which explores the intersection of technology and society, the economy and the future. Exponential View is a key source for senior leaders and policy-makers, and has 187,000 subscribers worldwide. The spin-off podcast is distributed by Harvard Business Review and ranks in the top ten technology podcasts in the UK, and top 50 in the US. Guests have included Yuval Harari, Prime Minister Tony Blair, Elif Shafak, among many others.

He is the author of the book “Exponential: How Accelerating Technology is Leaving Us Behind and What to Do About It” (2021), which instantly became an Amazon bestseller in Geopolitics on day 1 of its release.

He founded data analytics firm, PeerIndex, which was later acquired by Brandwatch.  He is an angel investor, he has invested in 30+ startups, including early-stage startups in AI, renewable energy and female healthtech. Azeem is a venture partner at early-stage VC firm, Kindred Capital and advises several global firms’ senior management teams.

He sits on the Global Futures Council on Digital Economy and Society, part of the World Economic Forum. He is also on the board of the Ada Lovelace Institute and quantum computing startup, Beit.

He has worked in senior positions in several global media businesses, and started his career as a journalist, writing for The Guardian and The Economist.
