Rico is a vocal activist, fighting avidly for the rights of LGBTQIA+ people and Black people alike. He started his career as a Diversity Consultant following launching his radio show ‘Against Racism’ after the BLM movement. As a Director at TransActual UK, he strived to change UK legislation for trans and non-binary equality, tackling hate crime and raising the Black Queer intersectionality question in all forums. As the Trustee and Treasurer of LGBT+ Consortium, he has continued to help the community with their grant funding and to advocate for them through chairing panels at the London Assembly and submitting evidence at the Healthcare Committee.
Rico is among the few selected to be on the UN’s UNITE 2030 Youth Delegate Programme. As a semi-finalist on Channel 4’s Make Me Prime Minister, he was commended for his integrity and compassion by Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.
He’s recently completed a diploma at Harvard Online University, studying Sustainable Investing to be part of the movement to push for ethical business practices. As Head of Trans Inclusion at UK Black Pride he’s created the 16th Century Campaign to raise awareness of the impact of misinformation, empower allies to contact MPs and interviewed MPs who have shown solidarity to the campaign.  https://16th-century.com/
