Tim Howard's Biography

Tim Howard is an American soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for English club Everton and the United States national team. A man of remarkable endurance and stamina, Tim shares his experience of the hard work it takes to build these skills and to become a soccer star on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

Tim started his career with the North Jersey Imperials before making a move to the MetroStars. His appearances soon attracted the attention of Manchester United, who signed him in 2003. He enjoyed relative success with them as they won the 2003 FA Community Shield, the 2003–04 FA Cup and the 2005–06 League Cup. In 2007 he moved to Everton who he signed permanently with . On January 4, 2012, Tim scored a goal, his first as a professional, against Bolton Wanderers. This made him only the fourth goalkeeper to score a goal in a Premier League match.

He first represented the United States in 2002 and he later established himself as a first choice goalkeeper and started all of the games for Team USA at the 2010 World Cup. In 2014 Tim Howard reached his 100th cap making his one hundredth appearance in an international game playing for the US against Nigeria. He went on to compete in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. During the match against Belgium in the Round of 16, he broke the record for most saves in a World Cup match with 16.
