Team Mouat Keynote Speaker

Team Mouat, from Scotland, are one of the leading medal contenders for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan/Cortina. Since forming in 2017, they have captured the 2023 and 2025 World Men’s Curling Championships, Olympic silver at the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing, four European titles, and a record-breaking ten Grand Slam titles—including an unprecedented four in a single season (2024–25).

Scotland is the historic home of curling, and these four athletes represent both Scotland and Great Britain on the world stage, competing regularly in the Grand Slam of Curling across North America. The team consists of:

Bruce Mouat – Skip
The Mouat of Team Mouat, Bruce is the Skip (captain) and a tactician known for his calm precision. Curling since the age of seven, Bruce came out to his family and friends at 18 and has since become a role model for LGBTQ+ visibility in sport. He’s taught himself how to sew and finds joy in building Lego between tournaments.

Hammy McMillan Jr – Lead
Lively and charismatic, Hammy injects energy—and a touch of chaos—into the team dynamic. He also works as a curling development officer, having previously mixed cocktails in a bar, where he perfected a legendary Espresso Martini. His presence is as commanding off the ice as it is on it.

Bobby Lammie – Second
Bobby grew up on a farm in Stranraer, Scotland, and always dreamt of turning sport into a career. A graduate in sports studies, he balances his quiet nature with a fierce competitive drive. Away from the rink, he enjoys football, golf, and Scotland’s great outdoors.

Grant Hardie – Third
Grant has curled alongside his cousin Hammy since their junior days and now serves as Team Mouat’s vice-skip. A qualified civil engineer, he brings a measured, analytical mindset to the team’s tactical approach—his cool under pressure a perfect match for the team’s ambition.

In April 2025, Team Mouat competed in the inaugural Rio Mare Battle of the Sexes charity match against Team Homan, raising funds for children’s cancer initiatives. They were also honoured at Bute House in May 2025 by the First Minister of Scotland in recognition of their extraordinary achievements.
