Sam Holness's Biography

Sam Holness is an inspirational speaker and exceptional athlete, renowned for his achievements in endurance sports and his advocacy for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

On a global stage, Sam is challenging the stereotypes of those with neurodiversity, while tackling one of the world’s toughest endurance sports. In 2022, he became the first openly Autistic endurance athlete to complete the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, showing it is possible to break through the perceived societal barriers of sport.

Holness has been recognized by Triathlete.com as a ‘Mover and Shaker’ in the sport of triathlon. His impact extends beyond athletic prowess; in 2020, he was honored on the Power 100 list of disability influencers and leaders.

Sam’s compelling journey has garnered international attention, resonating with audiences worldwide and positioning him as a bridge between sports, brands, and new demographics. His partnerships with leading global brands have resulted in significant breakthroughs, and he’s on track to set a series of Guinness World Records, further cementing his role as a barrier-breaking figure in the athletic community.

With a focus on endurance sports, Sam Holness is on a mission to demonstrate that ASD is not a barrier to high-level athletic success. His calendar leading up to 2024 is filled with Ironman Triathlon events, marathons, cycling, and trail running competitions, where he aims to continue to prove there are no limitations to athletes with neurodiversity.

Coached by his father, Tony Holness, they have delivered speeches together for corporates including KPMG, Lloyds Bank, Havas, and more, as well as for schools, universities, and local community groups.
