Martha Coven's Biography

Martha B. Coven is a renowned policy expert and communicator with over two decades of experience in the government, education, and private sectors. Coven served in the Obama White House as a Special Assistant to the President at the Domestic Policy Council and as a Program Associate Director at the Office of Management and Budget. Before joining the administration, she spent eight years as a Senior Legislative Associate at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and as an O’Neill Peterson Fellow at Consumers Union. Additionally, she started her career on Capitol Hill, where she spent five years in the Office of the House Democratic Leader and on the staff of a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee.

Currently, Martha is a Visiting Lecturer at Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs, where she teaches courses in domestic policy and is an Adjunct Professor of Law at New York University.
