Jennifer Zhu Scott Keynote Speaker

Jen Zhu Scott is one of only very experienced keynote speakers on global technology and the investment environment from mainland China. She is a Founding Partner of IN Capital, a digital-forward asset management firm focusing on deep tech. Jen actively invests in AI start-ups – including the world’s first generative-AI native search engine.  In May 2025, she co-founded and is the CEO of Power Dynamics,  www.powerdynamics.ai.

Prior to this, Jen was Chairman of The Commons Project Foundation, and played a key role in providing global health data interoperability during the global pandemic. She was also head of business development and strategy in APAC for Thomson Reuters and led the firm’s speech-to-text, deep search intelligence, video-indexing projects. Jen co-founded one of the first education companies in China. She exited before moving to the UK as a senior advisor to the education subsidiary of Daily Mail & General Trust.

Jen was named by Forbes as one of the Word’s Top 50 Women in Tech in 2018 and is amongst Fortune Magazine’s The Most Influential Business Women in China in 2021. She was the Co-Chair of Fortune Global Tech Forum in 2019 and honored by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in 2013. In 2014, Jen was appointed as one of the 18 council members of China Council, cochaired by former NDRC Chair Zhang Xiaoqiang and former Australia Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, convened by the World Economic Forum’s think tank, Global Agenda Council. In 2016, WEF appointed her to be one of 20 members of the inaugural Council of The Future of Blockchain and reappointed her for the 2018-2020 term. In 2020, she joined the Data Policy Council of the World Economic Forum as a Council Member. Jen serves as a Board Trustee for Web Science Trust, founded by Tim Burners-Lee.

Jen is a China Fellow of the Aspen Institute and an Associate Fellow at The Royal Institute of International Affairs in London (Chatham House) with a dual fellowship under the Digital Society Initiative and the Asia Pacific Programme.

Jen studied Applied Mathematics at Sichuan University and holds an MBA in Finance with Manchester Business School, where she earned distinction with her research on PE/VC in China and was recognised as a Distinguished Alumni. She completed the public policy and leadership program at Yale University in 2013, Harvard Kennedy School in 2016, and Oxford University in 2017. In 2018, she was also selected to be a part of Princeton University’s first executive education program focused on energy sustainability and leadership.

Jen is a frequent and speaker at corporate events, and a published opinion writer on Artificial Intelligence, blockchain, data ownership, and China’s digital monetary strategies. In 2017, she debated against the notion of Universal Basic Income at Oxford Union. At Davos in 2018, she debated against Nobel Prize winner Prof. Robert Shiller and Swedish Central Bank Deputy Governor Cecilia Skingsley on Crypto Assets. Her TED Talk “Why You Should Get Paid for Your Data” has over three million views.

She is the lead author or co-author of numerous White Papers by the World Economic Forum on business adoptions of blockchain technology and the Token Economy. Jen is also a Senior Technical Consultant for Season 5 and 6 of the HBO show Silicon Valley   Jen lives in Hong Kong with her family.
