Harry Benjamin's Biography
Harry Benjamin is a leading motorsports broadcaster and one of the most recognisable voices in Formula 1. As the anchor of BBC Radio 5 Live’s F1 coverage and, since 2024, the first-ever deputy to lead commentator David “Crofty” Croft on Sky Sports F1, he brings audiences trackside insight with clarity, warmth and pace. His portfolio spans F1TV, Formula 2 and Formula 3, alongside Sky F1’s innovative Kids Takeover programme.
Recognised early by Global and BBC Radio 1 as a rising star, Harry began while at university, cutting his teeth as a temporary producer on the Absolute Radio Breakfast Show with Dave Berry. He literally started as the work-experience kid making teas in the studio—then worked relentlessly to master the craft of live commentary. That persistence helped him become one of the youngest broadcasters to call live Formula 1 races on the global stage.
Known for an engaging, approachable style, Harry is a go-to presenter for major broadcasters and brands including Samsung, BBC Three, Netflix’s Drive to Survive, Goodwood and Children in Need. He is a trusted live host for Ferrari, Porsche, the FIA, CarFest, Silverstone and WTF1—equally at home on the paddock, a main stage or a corporate keynote. Beyond F1, his commentary credits include golf, table tennis and MotoGP.
A trained performer, Harry studied at RADA and honed his stagecraft in sell-out comedies at the Edinburgh Fringe and theatres across the UK. He has fronted shows for Bauer’s Hits Radio and Global’s Heart, appeared on BBC Radio 2’s Late Show, and reported from the Olivier Awards for Magic Radio and SiriusXM. For audiences, he delivers fast, insightful storytelling—translating elite performance, teamwork under pressure and the human drama of sport into practical lessons for business and leadership.
