Emma Bache's Biography

Emma Bache has worked as a graphologist and handwriting expert since 1989, analysing handwriting for both corporate and private clients. Over the course of her career, she has built an enviable client list that has included the famous and infamous alike, alongside businesses ranging from City institutions and international hotel chains to charities and high-net-worth individuals.

From relatively small handwriting samples, Emma is able to reveal remarkable insights into personality and character, including reliability, energy levels, social skills, honesty, health indicators and compatibility between couples or business associates. Her clients have included Google, Salesforce and Dorchester Collection, among many others.

Over the last decade, Emma’s extensive media profile has established her as one of the UK’s leading handwriting experts, working regularly in London and internationally. She has made countless appearances across both BBC and independent television, including Fake or Fortune (BBC One), BBC Breakfast, This Morning and Sky News. Her expertise has also featured in true crime documentaries such as The Rev and Becoming Ian Brady on Amazon Prime.

Emma has appeared on numerous podcasts and radio programmes, including the award-winning The Battersea Poltergeist, as well as BBC Radio 4’s Midweek and Today programmes, the World Service and a wide range of regional and independent stations.

Her graphology columns for The Times and The Financial Times have analysed the handwriting of prominent figures including Rupert Murdoch, Sir Richard Branson and Baroness Karren Brady, alongside many leading industrialists, bankers and entrepreneurs. More unusual assignments have included analysing controversial figures such as Saddam Hussein and Donald Trump. Her work has also appeared in major UK newspapers including The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian and The Daily Mail, as well as leading journals and magazines such as Cosmopolitan, The Field and Country & Town House.

Emma’s fascination with human behaviour and the workings of the mind led her to gain qualifications in psychotherapy and hypnotherapy in 2007. Alongside handwriting analysis, she has worked extensively on forensic linguistic cases for insurance companies, intelligence agencies, banks and private individuals, analysing the language used in emails, texts, blogs and other forms of written communication.

Her expertise has been used in recruitment, corporate restructuring and fraud investigations, helping organisations and individuals gain insight into behavioural patterns and the criminal mind. Emma also delivers talks, presentations and team-building exercises for companies and organisations, as well as one-to-one assessments across all levels of industry, from CEOs to new recruits.

Her first book, Reading Between The Lines, was published by Quercus in 2018.
