Christian Horner's Biography

Christian Horner is one of the most successful team principals in Formula One history, having led Red Bull Racing from its debut in 2005 until 2025. During his two decades at the helm, he transformed the team into one of motorsport’s dominant forces, overseeing an era that delivered six FIA Constructors’ World Championships, eight FIA Drivers’ World Championships and more than 120 Grand Prix victories.

A former racing driver, Christian began his career competing in Formula Renault and Formula 3000 before recognising that his strengths lay in team leadership. In 1997, he co-founded Arden International, guiding the team to multiple Formula 3000 championships and becoming one of the sport’s most respected young team owners. His success led Red Bull to appoint him as Team Principal at just 31 years old, making him the youngest team principal in Formula One at the time.

Under Christian’s leadership, Red Bull Racing became synonymous with sustained excellence and innovation. He built championship-winning teams around legendary drivers Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, working alongside some of the sport’s greatest engineering talent to establish Red Bull as one of Formula One’s defining teams of the modern era. His leadership combined technical understanding, strategic decision making, commercial acumen and an ability to inspire high-performance teams under relentless pressure.

In 2025, Christian stepped down as Team Principal and CEO of Red Bull Racing, bringing to a close one of the longest and most successful leadership tenures in Formula One history.
