Brian Little's Biography

Brian Little is an internationally acclaimed keynote speaker and a scholar in the field of motivational psychology and personality. His research on how everyday personal projects and ‘free traits’ influence the course of our lives has become an important way of explaining and enhancing human flourishing. He is currently at Cambridge University where he is a Fellow of the Well-Being Institute and Director of the Social Ecology Research Group in the Department of Psychology. Brian is also affiliated with the Cambridge Judge Business School and the Psychometrics Centre at Cambridge.

He has been elected as a “Favourite Professor” by graduating classes at Harvard for three consecutive years. This was due to the popularity of his course on personality in Harvard’s Department of Psychology.

Professor Brian Little’s TED Talk entitled “Who Are You, Really? The Puzzle of Personality” has over four million views, and he is also a Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus at Carleton University in Ottawa.

Highly successful corporations and professionals understand the profound effect that personality has on performance, and they use this knowledge to their advantage. In his presentations, which are both deeply informative and outrageously funny, Dr. Little helps his audiences learn how to make effective use of these personality differences.

His unique approach to the science of personality is self-evident in his book Me, Myself and Us: The Science of Personality and the Art of Well-Being. Daniel Pink said about the book “I defy you to read this book and not change the way you think about your friends, your family and yourself.” While Susan Cain said “Brian Little is one of the wisest, funniest, kindest, and most erudite people I have ever met, and in this book you’ll be treated to a generous helping of all these personality traits.”
