Sir Andrew Strauss is one of England’s most successful cricket captains, leading the national side through one of the greatest periods in its history. One of only three England captains to win the Ashes both at home and in Australia, he guided England to the world’s number one Test ranking and established himself as one of the country’s finest opening batsmen, scoring more than 7,000 Test runs across a distinguished international career.

After abandoning a career in the City, Andrew announced himself on the international stage by scoring a century on his Test debut at Lord’s. Renowned for his resilience, intelligence and calm leadership, he captained England in all formats of the game before retiring after his 100th Test match in 2012. His achievements earned him a knighthood in 2019 for services to sport.

Following his playing career, Andrew joined Sky Sports as a commentator before returning to the England and Wales Cricket Board as Director of England Cricket in 2015. He led the transformation of the men’s game, overseeing a new high-performance strategy that culminated in England winning the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, the first in the nation’s history.

Alongside his work in cricket, Andrew founded the Ruth Strauss Foundation, which supports families preparing for the death of a parent and funds research into non-smoking lung cancers. The Foundation has become one of the UK’s leading family support charities, helping thousands of families navigate bereavement and serious illness.

Today, Andrew serves as CEO APAC at Mindflick, leading the company’s expansion across the Asia-Pacific region from Hong Kong. He works with organisations to improve leadership, culture and team performance by applying behavioural science and elite sporting principles to the workplace.
