Alice Loxton is a historian, writer and presenter whose infectious enthusiasm for the past has made her one of the most exciting voices in history today. Described by Dan Snow as “the star of her generation” and “the next big thing in history,” Alice brings historical narratives to life through engaging television, bestselling books, and a dynamic social media presence that reaches over 1.8 million followers.

She has presented numerous documentaries for History Hit, working alongside Dan Snow and Dan Cruickshank, with standout programmes including The Secrets of Stourhead, Ada Lovelace, and The English Parish Church. Alice also fronted the Historic Locations series on YouTube, exploring iconic sites such as Hampton Court Palace and Wells Cathedral. Her broader screen work includes Inside Buckingham Palace (Channel 5), Decoding Turner (Sky Arts), and Queens That Changed the World (Channel 4). She has appeared as a royal commentator on the BBC, NBC News, and Channel 7 Australia during events including the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the coronation of King Charles III.

Alice is a sought-after speaker and host, with appearances at 10 Downing Street, the V&A, and Chalke Valley History Festival. She has interviewed leading historians including Peter Frankopan and Dan Jones, and worked with clients such as the National Trust, Xbox, Christie’s, and the National Portrait Gallery to develop innovative, history-focused digital content.

Her debut book, UPROAR! (2023), explored Georgian satirical printmakers and received critical acclaim for combining academic rigour with wit and accessibility. Her second book, Eighteen: A History of Britain in 18 Young Lives (2024), was an instant Sunday Times bestseller and named Blackwell’s Non-fiction Book of the Year. The book was also shortlisted for Waterstones Book of the Year. Alice contributes regularly to The Spectator, The Times, The Telegraph, and Tatler.
