Last week, the U.S. Senate passed the GENIUS Act (Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins), a breakthrough bill for cryptocurrency and a step toward federal regulation of stablecoins. Europe has already taken the lead on digital asset regulation under MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets), the first legal framework governing crypto-assets across all EU member states. These developments are part of the broader global race to integrate blockchain and tokenisation as nations work to gain greater control over their financial and digital systems.
