Evgeny Morozov's Biography

Evgeny Morozov is a leading thinker on the political, social and economic effects of the internet.

He is the author of “The Net Delusion: The Dark Side of Internet Freedom” (PublicAffairs, 2011), in which he argues that the internet is just as much an instrument for authoritarian repression as it is a vehicle for revolution and emancipation.

Evgeny is a contributing editor to Foreign Policy and comments on the impact of the internet on global politics in its ‘Net Effect’ blog. His writings have appeared in The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, The Washington Post, The International Herald Tribune and the Sunday Times, as well as many other publications.

He has also appeared on BBC Newsnight, CNN, CBS, SkyNews, Al Jazeera International and France 24.
