Steve Peters's Biography

Dr. Steve Peters is a psychiatrist who has worked with the Great Britain cycling team since 2001.

He was instrumental in unlocking the full potential of cyclists such as Vicky Pendleton, who won gold at the World Championships after working with him for just 12 months. He also played a crucial role in the GB cycling team’s success in Beijing 2008.

Steve’s central premise is that the key to success is in understanding our own brains. We need to realise that there is no truth, only opinion – then we can start making real advances.

He demonstrates how to activate the parts of your mind that help achieve high performance, whilst ‘turning off’ those that lead to destructive behaviour and self-doubt.

Steve’s latest book, “The Chimp Paradox: The Mind Management Programme to Help You Achieve Success, Confidence and Happiness” (Vermilion, 2012), was a #1 business best-seller on Amazon.
