Keyu Jin's Biography
Dr. Keyu Jin is a global economist, a tenured professor of Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science between 2009-2024.
She is the author of the critically acclaimed book The New China Playbook: Beyond Socialism and Capitalism, which was selected as one of the must-read books for every board member by Fortune magazine in 2023, and a Best Summer Book for Financial Times in 2023. Writing about the book, Prof. Kenneth Rogoff said “The most important book on China in many years, written with stunning eloquence and clarity. Jin does not cover the warts, but insists on a holistic view. Anyone who want to understand China, and how to engage with it economically and politically, will greatly benefit from this deeply original book.”
Her field of expertise is in international macroeconomics, technology competition and the Chinese Economy. Multiple academic publications have appeared in the leading journal in Economics, such as the American Economic Review.
She is a non-executive board member for the global luxury conglomerate Richemont, Asia conglomerate Jardine Matheson, and a member of the Economic Advisory Council for the state of Qatar and Ajay Banga’s economic advisory panel (President of the World Bank).
She has contributed op-eds to the New York Times, Financial Times, Wall street Journal, Time magazine and many others. She has taught at Yale and Berkeley in the past, and has a BA, MA, PhD from Harvard University.
