Amar Latif's Biography
Amar Latif is a pioneering entrepreneur, adventurer and television presenter whose extraordinary achievements have redefined what it means to overcome adversity. Losing 95% of his sight by the age of 18 due to an incurable eye condition, Amar refused to let blindness limit his ambitions or his view of the world. His journey from corporate finance to founding Traveleyes – the world’s first commercial tour operator to specialise in bringing together blind and sighted travellers – has inspired audiences and transformed the landscape of accessible travel.
Before founding Traveleyes, Amar built a successful career as Head of Commercial Finance at BT, defying expectations in an industry that often underestimated what was possible for a blind professional. Motivated by his own love of exploration and the lack of inclusive travel opportunities, he created a company that unites blind and sighted adventurers through shared experience, trust and discovery. Traveleyes now operates trips across six continents, empowering thousands to see the world differently – both literally and figuratively.
As a television presenter, Amar’s adventures have taken him from the jungles of Central America in BBC Two’s Beyond Boundaries to exploring faith and culture on Pilgrimage for BBC One, and to co-hosting the poignant Travelling Blind alongside comedian Sara Pascoe. His work across broadcasting and business has earned him widespread recognition, including an OBE for services to the visually impaired and entrepreneurship.
A charismatic and deeply engaging speaker, Amar shares insights on leadership, resilience, trust and inclusion, showing how to turn perceived limitations into platforms for innovation. His story is one of courage, curiosity and conviction – a masterclass in how to embrace risk, challenge expectations and see beyond barriers.
